A Nice November Surprise: Lush Kitchen Box

After waiting for what seemed like forever, my Lush Kitchen Box arrived!
I recently discovered it and I immediately subscribed.

What you might not know about me yet, is that I’m a total Lush addict.
As for skin care and cosmetics, I buy nothing else.
There’s two reasons for that: I LOVE the smell and I love that it’s natural products that aren’t tested on animals. Ever since I discovered Lush, I swear by it.
The calming effects of their products is amazing. What I love most is their bath bombs. After taking a bath, your skin is so soft and you smell amazing. Really recommended for a good nights sleep as well. Oh and if you want your clothes to smell fabulous as well, put one of these gems in your closet overnight ;).

I’m planning on reviewing some of the bath bombs and other products I bought from them, but today I’m going to talk about the subscription box that arrived. I literally couldn’t wait to open it. And oh boy, what a delight.

First of all, the products arrive in a really nice box.
When you open it, you still don’t have an idea what’s gonna be in it, but clearly it has a theme, which only made me more excited.

1. Glögg Shower Gel

When I finish my Sleepy Shower Gel I will definitely try this one. It smells comforting and sweet. It does remind me of these winegum coke candies I used to eat when I was little.
This shower gel is made of red wine, brandy, orange juice and ‘Christmas Spirit’. Perfect for next month! It makes me want to take a bath with some chill music and a glass of wine.
Treat yourself in these sad times, folks!

2. Happy Blooming Body Lotion

When I opened it, I was very surprised by the smell. The body lotion is made out of cacao butter, almond oil and Ylang Ylang oil. It smells sweet, and I think I have to get used to the smell.
First impression of this body lotion is good though. I currently use the Sleepy Body Lotion, which I am in love with. But this one I’m gonna try use as well, because of the great benefits of the Ylang Ylang oil. Did you know it’s used in perfumes? It also states to reduce anxiety and lower your blood pressure. Should be very useful for me then, so I’m curious about the effects.

3. The Jilted Elf Shower Jelly

Now, for a shower jelly, I haven’t used many before, so it’s gonna be a nice surprise. It is green, and when I say green I mean it’s veeeery green, almost fluorescent. It’s made out of fig infusion, agave syrup, cinnamon leaf oil, ginger oil, grapefruit oil and vodka. I sense something here… Are they trying to get us drunk?
This generous shower jelly smells very nice though and I can’t wait to try it!

4. Outback Mate Bubble Bar

As I told you before, I’m a real bath bomb addict. I tried out some bubble bars before, and it gives a nice soft touch to a bath, especially combined with the right bath bomb. This one smells not as sweet as the other products in the box, it’s got more of a spicy touch. This is a bubble bar made of cornstarch, eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil. It makes me think of Dirty Springwash I used to buy before, an ever old favorite.

5. Winter Bath Bomb

Last but not least, there’s this cute bath bomb. Another one I can add to my collection 😀 (If you’d like, you can watch some videos on my instagram of me testing out different kinds of bath bombs). This one also smells spicy. Perfect to indulge in now winter is coming.
The bath bomb contains cacoa butter, cedarwood oil, ginger oil, lemongrass oil, sandalwood oil, and some citrus extracts.

I can tell you I can absolutely not wait for the next box to arrive.
I suspect it’s going to be Christmas spirit all over!

    Hi Marieke
    Thank for your list.
I used Lush. I REALLY LIKE THE JILTED ELF SHOWER JELLY.
It smells very pleasant, maybe because I like the smell of cinnamon.
Ginger also relaxes the body and can relieve stress.
Cinnamon and ginger are probably the typical smells, but they are very pleasant, not strong.
